Encino Info

Created in 1845, the town of Encino lies in the San Fernando Valley.  Nestled up against the Santa Monica Mountains, it is a tiny jewel of a town that is as diverse as all of Los Angeles.  Situated in the central portion of the San Fernando Valley gives residents the vast views of surrounding mountain ranges.  At 9.8 geographic miles, it is a small community but rich with opportunity.

Many actors call this part of Los Angeles home.   Actors such as Don Ameche and Lisa Kudrow have called Encino home.  The city’s proximity to major entertainment centers have made this area a haven for celebrities who are looking for a slower pace of life.  The area’s natural beauty and small town “feel” are natural draws for anyone looking for a place to put down roots and still be close to work opportunities.

There are also a number of recreational activities available.  Los Encinos State Historic Park provides many opportunities to get out into the sun.  The 5-acre park features many amenities such as a natural spring, a pond and the opportunity to watch a working blacksmith shop.  Located nearby is the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area which offers what many consider to some of the best cricket grounds in the United States.  There are also several golf courses designed by champion golfers.  Courses such as the Encino Golf Club and the Balboa Golf Club challenge players every day.  Each features two long fairways and many amenities.  Lake Encino also provides additional opportunities to relax and appreciate nature.

With 42,000 residents, Encino Hills offers a small town feel where you will know your neighbors while living close to the conveniences of a large urban city center.  There are a wide variety of shops and restaurants to meet a wide variety of tastes and needs.  Local residents often remark that they enjoy the ability to walk to the businesses in the area.  This walkability factor plays into many resident’s decisions to build and purchase homes in the area.

Situated in the southern area of the San Fernando Valley, enjoys beautiful weather most of the year.  Nestled among neighborhoods such as Bel Air, Brentwood and Sherman Oaks, the natural beauty of the region is clear to all who call it home.

For those families with students, there are currently no public high schools in the town.  There are a number of very well respected private academies though.  These provide exemplary educational services throughout the area.  For special needs students, the Fred E. Lull Special Education Center creates a fun learning environment.

While small town life may not be what everyone is looking for, Encino offers many opportunities to relax, enjoy and explore.  The beautiful, slower paced lifestyle is welcoming at the end of a long day for many.  The uniqueness and charm of this town will entice you in.  The convenience of a nearby urban city will help you create the idyllic home that you have been looking for.  For the few who have the means, Encino is a truly special place where dreams, sporting and relaxation go hand in hand.
